I Thought You Knew
The South has a famous stereotype about their residents that has been around since the Civil War. While Southerners have fought to break this stereotype, symbols of the South like modern country have undone their progress. Many of these songs emphasize drinking, tractors, and other stereotypical southern imagery which contradicts the rich southern culture. Rarely do these songs represent the diversity and melting pot of cultures that represent the true Southerner culture.
